March 3, 2015 | SOLD OUT!--Elvis Costello - Solo

Opener: Larkin Poe

Elvis Costello has followed his musical curiosity in a career spanning more than 35 years. He is perhaps best known for his performances with The Attractions, The Imposters and for concert appearances with pianist Steve Nieve. However, he has also entered into acclaimed collaborations with Burt Bacharach, The Brodsky Quartet, Paul McCartney, Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, guitarist Bill Frisell, composer Roy Nathanson, The Charles Mingus Orchestra, record producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett, Allen Toussaint and the Roots.

Costello’s songs have been recorded by a great number of artists. The list of performers reflects his interest in a wide range of musical styles: George Jones, Chet Baker, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Dusty Springfield, Robert Wyatt, Charles Brown, No Doubt, Solomon Burke, June Tabor, Howard Tate, the gospel vocal group The Fairfield Four and the viol consort Fretwork with the countertenor Michael Chance. In 2003, he began a songwriting partnership with his wife, the jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall, resulting in six songs included in her highly successful album ‘The Girl In The Other Room’.

During his career Costello has received several prestigious honors, including two Ivor Novello Awards for songwriting, a Dutch Edison Award with The Brodsky Quartet for ‘The Juliet Letters’, the Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef Award, a BAFTA for the music written with Richard Harvey for Alan Bleasdale’s television drama series ‘G.B.H.’ and a Grammy for “I Still Have That Other Girl” from his 1998 collaboration with Burt Bacharach, ‘Painted From Memory’.

Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. During the same year he was awarded ASCAP’s prestigious Founder’s Award. There have also been a number of Grammy nominations for his recent albums ‘When I Was Cruel’ and ‘The Delivery Man’.

The late-2003 Deutsche Grammophon release ‘North’ – an album of piano ballads composed, orchestrated and conducted by Costello – retained the number one position on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart for five weeks.

In 2004 Costello was nominated for an Oscar for Best Song – “The Scarlet Tide,” sung by Alison Krauss in the motion picture “Cold Mountain.” The song was co-written with T Bone Burnett.

In January 2006, Elvis Costello was a featured artist at the Sydney Festival in Australia, presenting a series of contrasting concerts. The first reunited Costello with the Brodsky Quartet for excerpts from ‘The Juliet Letters’, while in the second half, Steve Nieve, double-bassist Greg Cohen and soprano Antoinette Halloran joined Costello and the Brodsky Quartet for several newly arranged excerpts from “The Secret Songs.” Costello and Nieve then gave a second concert, in which they drew on some of Costello’s rarely performed compositions.

Costello embraced the role of talk show host with the launch of his internationally acclaimed music series Spectacle: Elvis Costello with…. Premiering in December 2008, Spectacle was a compelling blend of the best of talk and music television that offered a fly-on-the-wall perspective on the creative process. The program’s two seasons saw an eclectic and extraordinary array of guests – including Sir Elton John, Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen, Dianna Krall and President Bill Clinton – join host Elvis Costello to chat, perform and share their passion for all kinds of music.

‘Secret, Profane & Sugarcane,’ Costello’s 29th studio album, was recorded during a three-day session at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio and released by Hear Music on June 2, 2009. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the album debuted at #13 on the Billboard 200, Costello's highest album chart position since 1980's Get Happy. Following its release, Costello toured extensively with the featured musicians on the album dubbed the Sugarcanes.

The following year saw Costello return to work with producer T Bone Burnett on ‘National Ransom,’ released by Hear Music/Concord Music Group on November 2, 2010. Costello supplemented the album’s release with a full week of appearances, including performances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Colbert Report, and an episode of PBS’ Live In The Artists Den, filmed in front of 500 fans in the New York City Public Library’s main branch.

In May 2011 Elvis Costello and the Imposters reunited for the Revolver Tour. For the first time since 1986, Costello revived the Spectacular Spinning Songbook – a 15-foot-tall game-show wheel containing the titles of hits and rarities from his discography, which audience members spun to determine each show’s set-list. On April 3, 2012, UME released ‘Elvis Costello and the Imposters: The Return of the Spectacular Spinning Songbook!!!,’ as a CD, DVD and all-inclusive limited edition box set that also contained a vinyl EP, hardcover photo book, and more. The release captured Costello’s 2-night performance at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre, which the LA Times praised as “the kind of uniquely invigorating experience that warrants a buzzword all its own: inspiring.” The Revolver Tour did 5 legs of North American touring before heading to the U.K., Japan and Australia making it one of his most successful tours.

Following a year’s worth of experimental recording sessions, Elvis Costello and the Roots completed their collaborative album ‘Wise Up Ghost.’ Produced by longtime Roots associate Steven Mandel and released by Blue Note Records on September 17, 2013, the album debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200, with NPR describing it as “the best of Costello’s stuff and like nothing he’s ever done before.” In the fall of 2013 Costello toured the Northeast of the US solo eventually naming the tour “The Last Years of my Youth” in 2014 Costello made his Carnegie Hall debut, before returning to the UK to headline Kew Gardens. Costello appeared at the Hollywood Bowl in early September before resuming his solo tour of the U.S.

March 29, 2015 | Home Free

When country a cappella band Home Free was crowned Season 4 Champions of
NBC's The Sing-Off this past December, their victory was by no means the
beginnings of a career for the five country stars from Minnesota… rather it was a
satisfying culmination of nearly a decade of hard work and commitment to a
vocal craft growing in popularity.
Founded by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp during their college years in the early
2000s, Home Free had been perfecting their live show for years prior to The
Sing-Off--performing together for crowds in countless State and County Fairs, on
college campuses, in front of Fortune 500 companies, and in theaters all across
the country. It was their experience on the road that carried them to a Sing-Off
victory, swelling their fan base and bringing their homegrown country style into a
national spotlight.
Home Free continues to entertain audiences nationwide with their high-energy
show peppered with quick-witted humor that meshes Nashville standards with
pop hits dipped in country flavor. They arrive to town on the heals of their debut
release on Columbia Records, Crazy Life.
